Hengdian Group spotlights talent development in company-wide forum

Hengdian Group’s top management convened a Talent Pipeline Symposium this July to lay out a talent development strategy going forward, in order to strengthen Hengdian’s corporate competitiveness and in response to rapidly changing times.

At the forum, Hengdian Group Chairman and President Xu Yongan emphasized the importance of a robust and diverse talent foundation, speaking to the company’s HR executives, chairpersons and managers of the Group’s subsidiaries, and various industry leaders.

Xu spotlighted the value in fostering a younger, more knowledgeable leadership team, to enable a company ecosystem that is both highly efficient and able to grow alongside an ever-evolving global landscape.

He encouraged managers to concentrate on build up their managerial personnel from the grassroots level and in challenging environments, to cultivate a talent pool that is strong in both professional expertise and managerial capability.

Doing so will create a solid talent pipeline foundation over time, and give rise to a team of loyal, professional, dynamic and high-caliber professionals to support the Group’s sustained development.

At the same time, Xu also stressed that the talent pipeline must maintain a balance between internal cultivation and external recruitment, to enable continuous and steady growth and innovation for the company.

During the symposium, HR Director for Apeloa Pharmaceutical Zhang Lanrong presented approaches to fostering younger management talent by emphasizing performance evaluation and actively identifying criterion for promotion.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Hengdian Group DMEGC Ren Hailiang shared strategies for attracting high-level talent, explaining the company’s dual priorities of “virtue and talent, with virtue first” when bringing in top-tier professionals.

Xu similarly drew focus to the power of shared values within a company. Only when all members uphold a common system of principles and aspirations can a team’s full potential be unleashed, he said, in order to create greater value for both the Group and for society.
