Movie Studios

Starting from its first step in building a Guangzhou Street for the filming of The Opium War in 1996, we have constructed more than 30 extensive movie sets which span a historical timeline of 5000 years. These sets showcase The Palace of Qin, Qing Ming Shang He Tu, Palace of Ming and Qing Dynasties, Dream Valley, The Dream Bund, and New Yuanmingyuan. In total, there are more than 100 movie sets of various scales. Together, it is the largest filming set in the world. Our business offerings extend to filming, costume and props, equipment, post production, talent and agency, encompassing all aspects of the film industry to make us a “film and entertainment empire.” Hengdian has become the largest, most concentrated, most advanced, and most cost effective production base in China. Every year, more than 300 crews work in our studios, a cumulative total of 3200 production crews, making up a quarter of China’s film and television production, and two thirds of historical dramas are filmed in Hengdian.
