According to the Meadin Academy’s March 2020 Top 100 5A Tourist Attractions ranking, Hengdian World Studios moved up to fifth place. The monthly ranking was published by Meadin Academy. By analyzing internet data and activities, the Academy aims to assess the impact of the 5A attractions on the internet and mobile internet to help the attractions set strategies to develop their brands.

During the pandemic, as people change their travel habits and mentality, “tour+streaming” has become a new tourist phenomenon.  In early March, before the various areas of Hengdian World Studios began re-opening, we actively launched online promotion campaigns, publishing short videos and images of the scenic spots in springtime on different media and video outlets. We also launched a live streaming channel for online viewing of the scenic spots, introducing the “cloud tourism” of Hengdian World Studios.  In this way, people can admire the beauty of the studios without leaving their home and help to alleviate the regret of not being able to travel.  The launch was well received by internet users.

On March 28, New Yuan Ming Palace (Spring Palace), Ming and Qing Palatial Garden, Qin Palace, and Dream Valley became the first areas of the Hengdian World Studios to re-open. On the day, each area received many visitors. To celebrate the long anticipated re-opening, each area launched a series of spring festivities. Qin Palace hosted a Qin army training camp and interaction with TV characters; Ming and Qing Palatial Garden was opened for TV hotspot selfies; Dream Valley hosted a Jiangnan lantern meet and set up interaction with character models; and the Rocky Grotto was the site of a hiking festival.  In the future, Hengdian World Studios will continue to re-open other areas based on visitor volume in the existing areas.  We would like to remind the public that while we embrace the beautiful springtime, we should be mindful of COVID related restrictions and guidelines.
